Gear up for Cold and Flu Season with Zicam – Giveaway
I am usually never scared of the cold and flu season. I just try to avoid it and if I catch any type of illness, than I will suffer. But, since I am pregnant, I am more cautious of avoiding any type of illnesses. I never had the flu shot in my life until I was pregnant. I received the seasonal flu shot in early October and got brave and received the H1N1 flu vaccine on October 26th. I think they were both very wise decisions, not only for me buy my little girl. Therefore, when I heard about Zicam’s new Cold Remedy, I was more than eager to try it out.

I had the opportunity to review the Zicam Cold Remedy Zavors and the Zicam Cold Remedy Plus Liqui-Loz. Both came in a cherry flavor, which is my absolutely favorite flavor. The Zicam Liqui-Loz is kind of like a cough drop, but you need to let it completely dissolve in your mouth, DO NOT CHEW IT! Unlike cough drops, you can only take one Liqui-Loz at the onset of symptoms, and repeat every three hours until your symptoms are gone. You do have to avoid eating/drinking for 15 minutes after use, which wasn’t a problem for me. I tried it once and really enjoyed the soothing effect on the back of my throat. As for the Zicam Cold Remedy Zavors, my husband tried this product. You take it in the same way you would take the Liqui-Loz, but you actually chew the Zavors. Again, you will only take one on the set of symptoms and repeat every through hours until your symptoms are gone. My husband said that the chewable kind actually tasted fairly well (he hates cherry) and it wasn’t a chalky taste.
Needless to say, we will be using Zicam in our household during the cold/flu symptoms. We would rather use a product that is Homeopathic then having to go to the doctor and take prescribed medicines. Zicam wants you to be prepared this cold/flu season and they suggest the following:
1.) Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth after being exposed to viruses/bacteria
2.) Frequently clean keyboards, door handles, rails, telephones, and counter tops.
